Arsenal will be aiming to build on their recent run of form when they host Newcastle United in a 2020-21 English Premier League fixture on Monday evening.
The Gunners head into back-to-back home games against Crystal Palace and Newcastle on a three-game winning run in the league which has propelled them away from the relegation zone.
While the run of results has eased pressure on Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, the Spaniard has stated that only after the next two rounds of fixtures will the club know if they are on the right track.
“The next two games are crucial to see the direction we’re taking to reinforce the things we have improved on,” Arteta said.
“The results we have had recently. We will know much more in the next two games.”
Newcastle head to North London days after a trip to bottom-placed Sheffield United where they will be hoping to snap a five-game run without a league win.
Arsenal took six points off the Magpies last season. The Gunners followed a 1-0 win on Tyneside with a 4-0 victory at Emirates Stadium. Club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored in both fixtures.
