Ashanti Gold will look to defend top spot on the Ghana Premier League log when they host Dreams FC at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi on Thursday, 17 May 2018, kick-off at 20h00 CAT.
Ashanti comes into the midweek round of fixtures sitting at the top of the log with 21 points from 11 matches.
‘The Miners’ scheduled match against Ebusua Dwarfs this past weekend was postponed while the GPL catches up matches, meaning their latest outing was a goalless draw away to Elmina Sharks on May 5.
Dreams are also well placed in the standings, sitting in third with 20 points from 12 matches.
‘Still Believe’ also had their scheduled match this past weekend – at home to Eleven Wonders – postponed. Their last game ended in a 2-0 loss away to Medeama, a second defeat from their last three league matches after also going down 5-0 away to WAFA.
AshGold and Dreams have met in just two previous league matches, both in the 2016 season. The first in April of that year saw Dreams claim a 1-0 away win, while the return game in Accra in August ended 1-1.
