Liverpool VS Everton
But the major talking point of the night will be the 4-0 drubbing of Everton by Liverpool in a one-sided Merseyside derby.
It was the first Merseyside derby for Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp and he will be happy with the performance of his side who picked their third Premier League win in a row.
Divock Origi who has been on fire for the Reds netted the opening goal before Mamadou Sakho added another as Liverpool took a comfortable 2-0 lead at the end of the first half.
A goal each by Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho in the second ensured that Liverpool kept all three points.
Despite the victory, Liverpool will be worried about the availability of Divock Origi who had to be carried off the pitch following a nasty challenge from Ramiro Funes Mori. Mori was sent off after the challenge.
The Reds desperately need Origi to be fit ahead of next week’s Europa League semi-final match. The Belgian has been amazing scoring five goals in as many matches.
Westham VS Watford
At Upton Park, West Ham was in fine form edging out Watford 3-1 in a match that saw Andy Caroll score his sixth consecutive goal.
Caroll opened the scores for the Hammers before Mark Nobble netted a double from the penalty spot as West Ham ensured a great start to the match.
Watford’s goal was scored by Sebastian Prodl but it could easily have been two had they scored a late penalty.
The results leave West Ham in sixth place three points behind Manchester United who easily breezed past Crystal Palace 2-0 on the same night.
The win keeps United on track for a top-four finish and a place in Europe next season.
