It is a big match for new United manager Jose Mourinho who has the first opportunity to grab his first trophy on his sojourn at Old Trafford.
Everything favours United ahead of Sunday’s fixture. They have won the Community Shield more times than any other English side having lifted it a record 20 times.
It is only Liverpool who comes close after having won it 15 times. Apart from trying to win his first trophy as United manager, Sunday’s match also gives Mourinho an opportunity to test his new players.
A win for Mourinho will get him on the right track towards winning silverware at Old Trafford. United have been disappointing since letting go of Alex Ferguson and no manager after he has been able to bring the invincibility that was associated with the Red Devils. In Mourinho, the have a manager who has an almost similar pedigree as Ferguson but ultimately will be judged by the number of trophies he has won at the end of the season.
Leicester City had a fairy-tale last season making history by winning the EPL title for the first time in their history.
This means that every team will be coming all out at them wanting to pick victory at all costs.
The Foxes have by and large managed to hold onto the majority of their players who won the league for them last season meaning that they will be just as strong as they were then.
