The former England Captain must be desperate to stay at Chelsea after he turned down a lucrative move to China. Mail Online is reporting that he has accepted a weekly pay cut of around £90,000 and is not guaranteed a starting position on the team under new Manager Antonio Conte. The deal is said to be incentive based and Terry will be rewarded on performance and appearances.
Terry had the following to say regarding the signing:
‘I am delighted to sign a new contract with the club,’ Terry said. ‘Everyone knows I’m Chelsea through and through. ‘I am looking forward to next season under the new manager and hopefully we can make it a successful one.
