The Red Devils were previously managed by Dutch man Louis Van Gaal. Under his management, the reds had a tumultuous season and fans called at every opportunity for Van Gaal to be sacked. As the season drew to an end Man United lifted the FA Cup trophy and fans added to their celebrations when news of Van Gaal’s departure was announced.
Rumors have been spreading like wildfires of Mourinhos imminent take over at Man United. The club has apparently been in negotiations with Mourhino’s team since Tuesday. Talks were delayed due to image rights constraints. All has now been resolved and Mourhino is expected to sign the dotted line today.
Ex Man United players have not held back their thoughts and Rio Ferdinand had the following to say on Facebook:
“I have heard many say the ‘Mourinho way’ is not the Manchester United style of playing football. However, the Chelsea team that Jose put together first time round when he entered the Premier League played with wingers and hurt teams with quick attacking play. This is a sign he knows how to get a team playing in a way Manchester United fans can look forward to seeing. “One thing I can tell Manchester United fans is that they have got themselves a true winner in all aspects. His CV shows success.”
