Vidic 34 announced his retirement last Friday in a statement posted on Manchester United website.
The Serbian said his decision to quit the game is as a result of the many injuries he has had in the last few years which he points out have taken a toll on him.
“”I would like to thank all the players I have played with, all the managers and staff I have worked with, and say a big ‘thank you’ to the fans for their support over the years,” Vidic said in his statement.
Vidic played for United for a total of eight years from 2006 to 2014 and in that period helped the club win five Premier League titles, the Champions League, three League Cups as well as the Fifa Club World Cup.
He left Manchester United two years ago to join Italian giants Inter Milan whom he quit recently due to injuries.
