Paris Saint Germain (PSG) will face Manchester United in a UEFA Champions League Group H match on October 20.
The French champions suffered a 1-0 defeat to German giants FC Bayern Munich in their last game in this competition in August 2020.
The defeat ended the Parisians’ three-match unbeaten run in the Champions League having recorded three successive wins.
However, PSG are undefeated in their last four home matches in the competition having registered four consecutive victories.
Meanwhile, United succumbed to a 3-0 defeat to Spanish giants FC Barcelona in their last match in this competition in April 2019.
As a result, the Red Devils are winless in their last two games in the Champions League having registered two successive defeats.
They have also lost two of their last three matches on the road in the competition, while the other game ended in a win.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the United manager, is looking forward to facing PSG and former United defender Rafael da Silva’s Istanbul Basaksehir of Turkey.
“Semi-finalists Leipzig and finalists PSG, of course you know you are going to play against good teams but it just shows the challenge we are facing,” Solskjaer said.
“How far they have come, and Istanbul almost went to the quarter-finals in the Europa League.
“Now they have signed Rafael, it will be a nice little reunion with him. Ander has been a great servant of this club as well so it will be good to see them.”
The last meeting between PSG and United in a competitive match was on 16 March 2019.
United secured a 3-1 victory over PSG in a Champions League match in France.
