Burnley will be aiming to record their first win of the English Premier League season when they welcome a wounded Tottenham Hotspur side to Turf Moor on Monday evening. Kick-off is at 22:00 CAT.

The Clarets conjured their first point of the season in a 0-0 draw away to West Brom following three straight defeats. The result leaves them in 18th spot on the log standings ahead of this coming weekend’s round of fixtures.

Spurs could also only manage a draw in their most recent outing. The North London club raced into a 3-0 lead after 16 minutes but could only manage a point in a 3-3 draw with West Ham United who scored three quick-fire goals in the final minutes of the clash.

“This was a game we had in the pocket and we lost two points,” said Spurs manager Jose Mourinho in the aftermath.

“My guys were not strong enough to cope with it psychologically in the last few seconds.”

Star forward Son Heung-min was equally disappointed and added: “We should remember this feeling forever so it never happens again.

“It is just so sad that we lost a big two points, when we as a collective played so well and as a team dominated and controlled the game, to draw the game feels like we lost.”

The corresponding fixture last season ended in a 1-1 draw with Chris Wood and Dele Alli on target for their respective clubs.
