Two things we learnt from the Swansea v Watford match
1 Swansea took the lead for the first time in 22 league matches
Tuesday’s win helped Swansea climb out of the relegation zone but the most significant aspect of the match is the fact that they were able to take the lead for the first time in 22 league matches thanks to Ashley William’s header.
Tuesday’s win was the first for the Swans in the past four top flight matches.
Prior to the victory over Watford, the Swans had won only one of their eleven previous Premier League games and will want to build on it as they seek to fight relegation.
2 Watford have a lot of work to do in search of European football next season
The Hornets started this season in great form but have of late found the going tough.
Tuesday’s loss to Swansea was their fourth straight and it leaves them just eight points from safety. This is the first time since 2000 that Watford are losing four straight Premier League matches.
Prior to their current poor form, Watford had won four straight league matches but have now picked just one point in five matches something that should worry both the manager and the players.
