Swansea City must beat Watford in Monday night‘s English Premier League (EPL) match to get off the relegation zone.
The Swans sit in the relegation zone after Newcastle United beat West Ham on Saturday.
Apart from their quest to move away from the relegation zone, Swansea City will also be out to raise their morale by attempting to turn around a bad form of results during which they have picked three successive league losses.
The Welsh club have had a bad run this season and this is proved by the fact that they have won just once in their last 11 top flight outings. Their latest defeat was a 4-2 loss at the hands of Sunderland in last Wednesday’s league match. Before that the team had been eliminated from the FA Cup by lower league side Oxford United.
Speaking ahead of the match, Swansea manager Alan Curtis says they a determined to avoid another loss at all costs so as to keep morale high.
“We are determined to get back on track as it would be discouraging to lose again,” he said.
Swansea will be happy to welcome back Kyle Naughton who is available after having his red card against Sunderland successfully overturned. There are also no new injury concerns in the team.
Watford will be out to keep their place in the top half of the table inspired by a good run of results in December during which coach Quique Sanchez Flores was named manager of the month and striker Odion Ighalo named player of the month.
Watford have a lot going for them in this fixture. They have scored in the last four visits to Swansea in all competitions and have lost just once against the Swans in their last five away matches.
It is a record that Watford will be keen to maintain in their search for another morale boosting win.
