Chelsea will square off with Ajax Amsterdam in a Group H match at the Stamford Bridge Stadium in England on Tuesday.
The Blues secured a 1-0 win over Ajax in their previous Group H encounter which was played in the Netherlands on October 23.
The victory took the English giants to the top of the group standings having accumulated six points from three matches.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been impressed by what his team has achieved thus far in the group stage.
“It feels huge, which always scares me because there is a lot to do. It is six points, halfway through a group now,” Lampard said.
“I think we are entitled to be happy with the way we played and it is a bit of a blueprint for us.
“There are no excuses now to dip from that. It is the standard for us. Hopefully, we can get better but we can’t drop that standard at this level of football.”
Meanwhile, Ajax will be seeking revenge when they lock horns with Chelsea in the capital city of England, London.
The Dutch giants are currently placed second on the group standings having collected six points from three matches.
Ajax head coach Erik Ten Hag has identified similarities between his side and Chelsea as they look to avenge their recent defeat.
“Chelsea wants to be in their opponent’s half as much as possible, and put the pressure on,” said Ten Hag.
“That’s similar to what Ajax does. We attack together and defend together. And if you position yourself well, you can prevent a lot from happening.”
