Manchester United VS Leicester
Before last season, Manchester United had won all their ten Barclays Premier League (BPL) fixtures against Leicester City.
But that record ended on September 2014 when Leicester came from two goals down to beat United 5-3. By doing that the Foxes also became the only team in the Premier League to come from two goals down and beat United.
Leicester City have had even better form this season and are favourites to beat United at home on Saturday with focus shifting back to the league after champions league matches on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Foxes are unbelievably perched at the top of the standings after thrashing Newcastle United 3-0 last weekend in a match that saw Jamie Vardy score his tenth consecutive Premier League goal.
Leicester are enjoying great form on the pitch and have lost only once this season and this was a 5-2 loss to Arsenal at home.
That loss did not however dampen their performance going ahead to collect 16 points in their next six matches. It is a situation that makes United’s chances of collecting maximum points here grimmer.
United with a struggling Wayne Rooney have had scoring problems. Despite beating Watford 2-1 last weekend to go second on the log, the Red Devils failed to go past PSV on Wednesday in their champions league match.
This has left United’s chances of making it from their group uncertain but for now coach Van Gaal’s main focus will be on how to go to the top of the log.
Tottenham VS Chelsea
On Sunday, Harry Kane will be looking to maintain his perfect form when Tottenham Hotspurs host struggling Chelsea in a London derby.
The England international has scored seven goals in the last four top flight matches for his side. Compared to their opponents, Spurs are enjoying a good season. They remain unbeaten in the last 12 matches while Chelsea have won only one of their last seven away matches.
Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho will be looking to end his bad run of results by picking a win away from home. He has the players to do the job for him and here he should not look beyond Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas who have both had a great performance against Spurs in previous matches. Defending champions
Manchester City VS Southampton
Manchester City will be looking to bounce back from their 4-1 humiliation at the hands of Liverpool last weekend when they host Southampton on Saturday.
